About & Contact

Hello and thanks for checking out my blog! I’ve created The Culinary Jumble Blog: About & Contact page to tell you a little bit about me and how to contact us.

So, me. Well, I am Tracy, an English ex-pat living in Sweden. I’m mum to two beautiful lads, work part time as a home language (English) teacher and spend way too much time on my blog!

In 2015, I took a spur of the moment photo of an apple cake I’d made (I think I must have been very proud of it) and decided to start a food blog (as you do). From taking random photos, it is has now become an obsession hobby which brings me so much joy, but also many sleepless nights about the quality of my pictures! Now I have a blog which I am incredibly proud of, one which is going from strength to strength.

So the food: for me, it’s all about simplicity. Why make anything trickier than it needs to be? The emphasis is on homemade dishes with fresh, wholesome ingredients. I am increasingly interested in gluten-free alternatives (and I am on the seemingly never-ending hunt for the perfect GF bread) and love to see where I can cut fat and sugar without cutting the taste! I am aware that the blog does sometimes have a bit of a multiple personality thing going on, with one day an obscenely naughty chocolate cake, followed by cookies made without refined sugar. And that’s okay with me. Life’s just about balance. The most important thing for me is not necessarily the amount of sugar something has, but the fact that is made from scratch.

If you’d like to use any of my images or link to one of my recipes, I’d be more than honoured. However, you do not have permission to copy and republish whole recipes. For a round-up, there is no need to contact me. If you do use one of my images, please ensure you credit The Culinary Jumble appropriately. Let me know where you’ve featured my recipe and I will help you share them!

I spent a couple of years working as a freelance writer, so if you think my blog would be a good fit for your product through a sponsored post, let me do the hard work and write something for you. Or maybe you’d like to send me something baking oriented to review (please, please!). I am open to all possibilities (as long as cooking/baking is involved), so please get in touch!

There are loads of ways you can get hold of me! I’d love to hear from you!

    1. Thank you so much for stopping by! I am hoping that I will get my 500 followers back and I feel a little sad right now, but thank you so much for you comments!
  4. Thanks for stopping by my blog and liking something. I may have had a similar experience to you in that I was an American posted to London, very educational and rewarding experience. Best of luck!

  6. Hi I hope you don't mind, but I was recently nominated for a Liebster Award for my new blog and as part of the tradition of passing the award on to promote other bloggers who have sites that you like and enjoy, I have now nominated The Culinary Jumble. You can see my acceptance post (which includes a link to your site in the nominations section) at http://bakemecrazy66.com - this includes some info about the award itself and what to do, should you wish to accept your nomination from me. I'll leave it with you to decide if you'd like to take your nomination any further or not, but as a fellow baker, albeit one who is very, very new to blogging, I chose you, because I like your baking philosophy and I too have started to dabble in areas such as gluten free, vegan, etc. As I say, I'm still very new to blogging, but I look forward to spending more time on your blog in the future. Kind regards Emma
  7. Hi! I wanted to let you know I think you're doing a great job with your blog and I nominated you for the Versatile Blogger Award! For rules and more info, check out this link: https://versatilebloggeraward.wordpress.com/vba-rules/
  8. Thanks for visiting my blog! (and liking it :) ). I too have a heart for baking, but you know, man cannot live by baked goods alone.
  9. Hello over there, thanks for visiting us and liking my post about Timpana the Maltese pasta pie. We visited friends in Copenhagen years ago, but sadly never made it over to Sweden - so close! I'm sure you're enjoying all the wonderful food there - especially the 'bread from Vienna!' Your site has too many tempting things to make and especially bake - I love that you actually made your own hotdog rolls. Makes me feel ashamed because we love hotdogs too - especially love a good smoked sausage like Rookwurst. And we always deplore the poor quality of the hotdog rolls available. All soft and sweet a lá Macdonalds, but you have really inspired me! Thanks Mimsey
    1. I wish I could say I made them every week, but they were so good, I wish I had the energy to do just that! The most important thing is that they were a hit with the kids, and you can't go wrong with that! I loved your site too - amazing photo from around the world! Just my cup of tea!
    1. There are millions of us here! :) Actually Maureen, just the person I wanted to speak to - do you have to have wordpress.org to be able to submit to your Fooderific site? I am having problems figuring it out! :)
      1. Wow. If I went to the roof I could just about wave! Our cat, Buster the Burmese, comes from Hjärup. We always wave to his cat-family when we go through on the train... :D
        1. It's amazing how many English speaking ex-pats have accumulated in these parts! I am a member of an English speaking parent group (not just about parental issues, just people that have kids, if that makes sense) for those of us in Skåne/ If you are interested I could send them link (it's on Facebook). Not everyone is, so I won't be offended if you aren't! :)
